At the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, our student ambassadors are here to help in your college transition. As students who have just recently been where you are, our ambassadors will make you feel right at home.

These remarkable students represent our programs to prospective students, community stakeholders, alumni and more. You’ll find our ambassadors welcoming the community to our facilities, supporting signature college events and enriching their own education in the classroom.

Meet our Ambassadors

Apply to be an Ambassador

Approximately 30 ambassadors are selected annually to serve one full year and must reapply to continue for subsequent years. Beyond leadership, professional development and networking opportunities, ambassadors receive credit through a repeatable one-credit course (AFE or GEN 300) for each term of service.

The application opens December 8. Check back to apply.

Ambassadors must:

  • Have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA, be enrolled in a Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment academic major and have completed at least 15 credit hours at UK.
  • Be enrolled in and attend all sessions of AFE or GEN 300 (1) on Wednesdays, 5-5:50 p.m. each term.
  • Speak to high school students and related audiences on the importance of attending college, student life and our college and university.
  • Relay accurate and useful information in-person, on or off campus, and virtually.
  • Support signature college events including Roundup, College Welcome, National FFA Convention and National Ag Week.
  • Represent the college before key stakeholders, including alumni and community and civic groups.
  • Attend regular training seminars offered through the program.
