Why did you choose your program, and how does your program contribute to your career goals?
I chose the Animal Sciences program because it allowed me the most opportunities within one major. The animal sciences pathway allows you a wide range of job opportunities after college but also allows you to learn the educational resources to return to your home farm, if you have the opportunity to do so. One of the jobs could be an Agriculture and Natural Resource agent, which is the job I hope to pursue after college.
Tell us about your favorite professor, advisor or other member of the UK family that has been especially impactful during your college career.
I wouldn't be at the University of Kentucky without the influence of Dr. Chris Tuetsch. Like other M-G CAFE staff, Chris not only poured into my educational career but also my professional career as well. He is always the first person to answer my questions about future career paths and always tries to help me find the best internships. Chris has been a guiding light throughout my undergraduate career!
What's been your favorite course and why?
My favorite course has been the AFE 100 course. This course is required for all incoming freshman attending the M-G CAFE. This course sets you up for what to expect in a college course and teaches you the fundamentals of being a college student. This course also allows you to meet fellow peers also in the college, which is where I met some of my closest friends.
