What's been your favorite course and why?
My favorite course has been AFE 100, which is the class that every freshman in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is required to take. This course made me feel at home as a freshman and helped ease the transition into college life. It gave me the opportunity to build personal connections with my professor, Dr. Savannah Robin, which made the experience even more meaningful. Through this class, I also gained a strong sense of belonging and community within the college. Overall, AFE 100 was not just an academic requirement, it was the foundation that helped me start my college journey with confidence and support.
Have you completed an internship, job or been involved with a club that has been especially meaningful to you?
I have been involved in several clubs on campus, including Sigma Alpha Sorority, Collegiate Farm Bureau, Collegiate Cattlemen’s, Dairy Club, Agribusiness Club, Peer Connect, and serving as an Ambassador. In addition to these organizations, I work as an on-campus student worker through the KY 4-H Foundation. Each of these experiences has been incredibly meaningful because they have allowed me to meet some of my best friends and build lasting relationships. Being active in these clubs has also given me numerous opportunities to grow as a leader and develop skills that will benefit me in my future career. Overall, these experiences have made my college journey more engaging, rewarding and truly heartwarming.

Dr. Savannah Robin has been my favorite professor during my time at UK because of the way she truly cares about her students. From the very first day in her class, she made it clear that we were not just numbers on a roster but individuals with unique stories and goals. She has an incredible ability to balance professionalism with compassion, always reminding us that it’s okay to be human and have challenges along the way. At the same time, she consistently pushes me to grow both personally and professionally, encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone and take on leadership opportunities. Her guidance has helped me build confidence, develop strong communication skills, and feel a sense of belonging in the college. Dr. Robin’s support has been a cornerstone of my college experience, and I truly believe her influence will continue to shape my future long after graduation.
