The Martin-Gatton CAFE IT team is comprised of the Extension IT Support Group, College Systems Support Group, Academic Facilities IT Support and Desktop Support Services for Marketing and Agricultural Communications and other college personnel.

We are located on campus (252 C.E. Barnhart) and at various off-campus locations. The Service Desk is also part of the IT Section and is available to help with IT-related problems and questions via phone, email or remote assistance. The IT Section also acts as a contact for UK IT Services.

Our Services

Extension IT Support

The Extension IT Support Group helps the Cooperative Extension Service with servers, workstations, network connectivity, videoconferencing and more.

Computer Security

The IT Section ensures our college systems and resources remain safe. Staff are always available to assist with security-related issues or questions.

Web Conferencing

The IT Section offers support for Zoom and Teams for web conferencing. In addition, the 249 Barnhart conference room is available to host virtual meetings on Zoom or Teams.

Extension IT Training

Training gives extension faculty and staff the tools to meet internal and external communication goals. Training includes Microsoft Office programs, Adobe software, county websites, Qualtrics and more. Contact Chad Jennings to schedule a training.

Servers and Network Support

On-campus and remote staff rely on our servers, including file, print and web services, remote access and other specialized systems. We service over 1,600 users and offer storage to all employees.

Computer Classroom and Smart Classrooms

We maintain the computer classroom at 246 C.E. Barnhart and smart classrooms in Ag Sciences North, Garrigus Building, Erickson Hall, 227 C.E. Barnhart and the James Beam distillery and maturation classroom.

Service Desk

The Martin-Gatton CAFE Service Desk is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to answer any computer or service-related questions. The Service Desk assists both on and off-campus faculty and staff regarding network, security, smart classrooms, technology and videoconferencing issues or inquiries.
