Professional Profile

Research in my lab is  focused on orthopedic immunology, primarily on mechanisms of synovial inflammation, with emphasis on endogenous mechanisms of inflammation resolution. With over a decade studying the key drivers of synovial inflammation resolution, macrophages, we use in vivo and highly translational in vitro models with a variety of 'omics technologies and have identified key mediators of inflammation resolution being investigated as pro-resolving therapeutics. Our studies are centered on horses, both as a patient population and a translational model.

A second branch of my lab is focused on catastrophic musculoskeletal injuries in racehorses and their relationship with the suspensory apparatus biomechanics and injuries.
