The Martin-Gatton Student Enhancement Fund helps students enrolled in a major in the Martin-Gatton CAFE take advantage of exciting opportunities like leadership conferences, internships, study abroad, professional development workshops, professional or graduate school preparation, and more. Who Can Apply?You're eligible if you are:A registered full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a major in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.In good academic standing.Funds must be used while you are still enrolled full-time. How Do I Apply?Here's what you'll need to submit:Application form.Letter of acceptance (if applicable).Budget.Resume.Faculty letter of support. Be sure to give your faculty member enough time to write this!Application and deadline for the Fall 2025 semester coming soon. Award Details What Can These Funds Be Used For? You can apply for funding to help cover costs like:Travel for leadership-focused conferences or workshops (registration, transportation, meals, lodging).Study abroad programs related to your major.Professional and graduate school preparation (like study guides, test fees or application costs).Note: These funds can't be used for tuition, fees or to pay a salary for unpaid internships. They're not meant to support undergraduate research. If you're interested in undergraduate research, there's a separate application for that. How Much Can I Get? You can apply for up to $500 to help cover your experience. Funding is awarded twice a year, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester, based on available resources. How Often Can I Apply? You can receive funding once per fiscal year. The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30, so plan your application accordingly. After Your ExperienceWithin two weeks of completing your experience, you'll need to submit a short reflection about what you learned and how it impacted you. We'll send you more details if you are awarded funding. Important NotesIf you receive funds for a non-refundable deposit and don't participate in the opportunity, you'll need to pay that money back. If you don't return the funds when required, a hold may be placed on your university account. This could affect your ability to register for classes or receive your diploma. Note to SeniorsIf you're graduating soon, there are deadlines for when your funded activities must take place.May or August graduates: Your activity must happen before April 1 of your final year at UK as an undergraduate student.December graduates: Your activity must happen before November 1 of your final year at UK as an undergraduate student.
