Lexington

Whether you’re from a big city or small town, Lexington has something for everyone. With its scenic outskirts, lively downtown, active community groups and loyal UK fan base, Lexington has both charm and excitement. You’ll feel at home in no time. Hear from our students about their experience in Lexington:

The city of Lexington is a reason that I decided to attend UK for college. Lexington is a rare combination of safe and busy, while also boasting its agricultural roots. Lexington is a very safe college city and has lots to offer within walking distance of campus, as well as an amazing downtown to explore.

Although I grew up near Lexington, I never experienced the city like I had to when I arrived at UK as a student. Lexington has something for everyone!

—Bethany Fields, Agricultural Education and Advocacy
Hometown: Frankfort, KY

Lexington is a city that took me by surprise. I had never imagined that I would find peace in such a place. I typically gravitate towards quieter areas away from urban centers. Growing up outside of Chicago, finding places like that was a challenge. Yet Lexington has both. From places I can connect with friends to paths where I can be alone with my thoughts, and racetracks where I can see my passions thrive, Lexington has it all.
