Professional Profile

Dr. Anne Stewart DeMott serves the University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment as the Director of Transfer and Graduate Recruitment. She brings more than 34 years of experience in education, including over three decades of leadership in both secondary and postsecondary settings.

A lifelong Kentuckian, Dr. DeMott began her career as a high school agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, a role she held for 20 years before transitioning into school administration for an additional 11 years. After retiring from public education in 2022, she joined Georgetown College, where she served as Director of Assessment, Data Quality, and Accreditation, undergraduate advisor for Education students, and contributed to the graduate school leadership program as a faculty member. In her current role at UK, she leads recruitment strategies for transfer and graduate students, developing strong partnerships with two- and four-year institutions across the country.

Dr. DeMott is a fifth-generation farmer and third-generation educator. Her early involvement in 4-H and FFA, particularly showing Angus cattle and participating in leadership activities, sparked a lifelong appreciation for agricultural education and community connection. Those experiences continue to inspire her work today, as she remains committed to mentorship, relationship-building, and creating supportive educational programs and partnerships.

A servant leader at heart, Dr. DeMott is known for her deep commitment to student success and her ability to build lasting relationships with education partners across Kentucky and beyond. Throughout her career, she has prioritized collaboration, cultivating relationships, and expanding access and opportunity for all students, and she remains active in service, program development, and outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening the secondary to post-secondary pipeline.
