In the MS in VS degree program, you’ll explore the biology of horses through advanced coursework, hands-on research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. With a strong foundation in scientific inquiry and communication, you’ll investigate the causes and mechanisms that impact equine health, performance, and productivity.
Applicants should have a strong academic background in biology, chemistry, and mathematics. While a bachelor’s degree in animal science, biology, equine science and management, or related field is advantageous, applicants with equivalent STEM degrees may be admitted.
As an MS student, you’ll specialize in areas such as infectious disease, parasitology, immunology, genetics, reproductive physiology, pharmacology, or musculoskeletal sciences, all with an equine emphasis, preparing you to lead in a wide range of equine-focused careers or continue your academic journey towards a PhD or other advanced degrees.
